Potted Roses

Potted roses are available all year round. They are very popular gifts and can be planted during the summer months outside of the bare root rose season. Once planted, they establish quickly in the garden, flowering in their first year – and for many years to come. Potted roses are delivered direct from David Austin’s nursery by courier. Each rose will arrive in a premium 6 litre pot, securely packed inside a sturdy, rose-print box. If watered adequately, potted roses can be kept in the same pot in which they are delivered for 6 weeks or more.

    Beautiful, little, rosette-shaped flowers are held in large, open sprays with each bloom held separately from the rest, creating a delicate, airy effect. They are a lovely pale pink colour and have a wonderfully strong musky fragrance. Although it is only once flowering, its blooms are borne in great abundance, making a magnificent display. An exceptionally tall, vigorous climber; it produces many long, slim, flexible branches which trail gracefully, hanging down elegantly from their support. Paul, 1876.

    Rambling Rose
    A very beautiful and elegant rambler, with small pink buds opening to semi-double flowers, which quickly fade from cream to white. They are held in small, dainty sprays, hanging gracefully from the branch rather like the blooms of a Japanese cherry. The growth is very lax and not too vigorous, making it an easy variety to train. It also has the added benefit of being almost evergreen. Jacques, 1826.

    Despite giving the impression of utmost delicacy, this is a very tough, healthy and reliable variety. Extremely floriferous; its soft pink, semi-double flowers are held in large sprays and have a musky Old Rose scent. It forms a bushy, rather upright shrub.     This pretty rose bears numerous cupped flowers, each with yellow stamens. They are a lovely light pink, becoming paler on the outer petals, and have a powerful myrrh fragrance. It forms an elegant, upright shrub, its blooms held gracefully above the foliage. The name is taken from John of Gaunt’s speech, expressing his love for England, in Shakespeare’s Richard II.     It bears large, cupped, rather informal, creamy white blooms tinged with pink, which have a strong, sweet fruity fragrance. First flowering in June/July, it repeats until late in the season. The growth is strong, bushy and upright with plentiful foliage. Although rather stiff, training the stems will create a graceful effect. Schwartz, 1879.

    A very tall, vigorous sport of the much-loved bush rose. Its exquisitely formed, thimble-sized Hybrid Tea buds are pale pink and sweetly fragrant.     When young, the outer petals of each bloom form a perfect ring around an inner cup, gradually opening out to form a perfect, medium-large rosette. The colour is a deep, rich crimson-pink, taking on a tinge of mauve just before the petals drop. There is a light-medium fruity scent. It forms a compact shrub with attractive bushy growth.
