Potted Roses

Potted roses are available all year round. They are very popular gifts and can be planted during the summer months outside of the bare root rose season. Once planted, they establish quickly in the garden, flowering in their first year – and for many years to come. Potted roses are delivered direct from David Austin’s nursery by courier. Each rose will arrive in a premium 6 litre pot, securely packed inside a sturdy, rose-print box. If watered adequately, potted roses can be kept in the same pot in which they are delivered for 6 weeks or more.

    Rambling Rose
    This is a useful rambler in that it is almost thornless, very healthy and not too vigorous. The orange buds open to small, pale apricot blooms with a yellow base, then fade to peach, pink and white. In autumn the flowers tend to be more pink. There is a sweet, musky fragrance and it repeat flowers throughout the summer. It can also be pruned to create a tall, rounded shrub. Turbat, 1876.

    This is a rose of truly rambler-like character, which has the benefit of reliably repeat-flowering. It bears delightful sprays of small, pale apricot-pink flowers, flushed with pale yellow. They are made up of narrow, quill-like petals, creating a very pleasing effect, and have a lovely sweet fragrance. Bide, 1923.

    The Lady of the Lake

    English Rambling Rose
    Its pretty, semi-double flowers, each about 2” across, are held in sprays on long, slender and flexible stems. They are a pale pink colour and of open formation, each exposing a nice boss of golden stamens. They have a fresh citrus fragrance. Named after the ruler of Avalon in the Arthurian legend. She also plays a pivotal role in Sir Walter Scott’s famous poem of the same name. DavidᅠAustin, 2014.

    Rambling Rose
    An unusual, short, repeat-flowering rambler with crimson-red flowers. The individual flowers are small, about 1” across, almost single and are held in large groups, creating a magnificent effect. Horner, 2005.
