Potted Roses

Potted Roses

Potted roses are available all year round. They are very popular gifts and can be planted during the summer months outside of the bare root rose season. Once planted, they establish quickly in the garden, flowering in their first year – and for many years to come. Potted roses are delivered direct from David Austin’s nursery by courier. Each rose will arrive in a premium 6 litre pot, securely packed inside a sturdy, rose-print box. If watered adequately, potted roses can be kept in the same pot in which they are delivered for 6 weeks or more.

    A repeat-flowering rambler, bearing fully double, soft yellow blooms, which are held in medium to large clusters. There is a light to medium musky fragrance. It is very healthy with strong, slender growth, attractive polished foliage and few thorns.     This is a rose of truly rambler-like character, which has the benefit of reliably repeat-flowering. It bears delightful sprays of small, pale apricot-pink flowers, flushed with pale yellow. They are made up of narrow, quill-like petals, creating a very pleasing effect, and have a lovely sweet fragrance. Bide, 1923.

    A very beautiful and elegant rambler, with small pink buds opening to semi-double flowers, which quickly fade from cream to white. They are held in small, dainty sprays, hanging gracefully from the branch rather like the blooms of a Japanese cherry. The growth is very lax and not too vigorous, making it an easy variety to train. It also has the added benefit of being almost evergreen. Jacques, 1826.

    A repeat-flowering rambler; it bears unusual, very attractive flowers of soft salmon-pink, fading to light pink. They are medium-sized and very full, the quill shaped petals radiating out from a button eye. There is a strong apple scent with a hint of chrysanthemum. Its graceful lax growth is easy to train.     Rambling Rose
    Produces large, closely packed clusters of small, cupped flowers. They open purple-magenta with a white centre, occasionally streaked white too, each with an attractive boss of bright yellow stamens. As the blooms age, they fade to lilac-grey – appearing almost blue on occasions. There is a fresh, fruity scent with rich orange notes. The growth is rather stiff and almost thornless. Schmidt, 1869.

They are produced almost continuously, are extremely robust and have a lovely medium strength Tea fragrance with leafy elements and dark fruit notes.     Pink-tinged buds open to reveal deep medium-sized cups held in large clusters. Pale yellow, paling to white at theedges, the delicate texture of the outer petals is such that the light runs through them, creating an almost luminous effect. The inner petals of each bloom frame a rich yellow eye. The fragrance is similar to green tea with aspects of lemon and honey. It forms a bushy, upright head of growth. David Austin, 2017.
