Potted Roses

Potted roses are available all year round. They are very popular gifts and can be planted during the summer months outside of the bare root rose season. Once planted, they establish quickly in the garden, flowering in their first year – and for many years to come. Potted roses are delivered direct from David Austin’s nursery by courier. Each rose will arrive in a premium 6 litre pot, securely packed inside a sturdy, rose-print box. If watered adequately, potted roses can be kept in the same pot in which they are delivered for 6 weeks or more.

    Its pretty, semi-double flowers, each about 2” across, are held in sprays on long, slender and flexible stems. They are a pale pink colour and of open formation, each exposing a nice boss of golden stamens. They have a fresh citrus fragrance. Named after the ruler of Avalon in the Arthurian legend.     This variety has particularly beautiful blooms. The buds open to reveal many petalled cups, which gradually form large, flat rosettes. The colour is a very attractive shade of soft yellow, the petals paling prettily towards the edges. The flowers have a medium strength fragrance, which is a perfect balance of Tea and myrrh. It will quickly reach some height and still produce flowers and leaves lower down the plant. Named after the pilgrims in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales. DavidᅠAustin, 1991.

    Tight buds open to rounded cups, with larger outer petals enclosing numerous smaller petals within. These open to clear mid pink, saucer-shaped rosettes; the outer petals forming a perfectly rounded rim. Initially, the fragrance is soft myrrh but as the flowers age, it becomes fruity with a distinct clove character. It forms a compact shrub with relatively upright, but quite bushy, growth. Named after the companion of the mythical hero, Robin Hood of Sherwood Forest. David Austin, 2010.
