Potted Roses

Potted roses are available all year round. They are very popular gifts and can be planted during the summer months outside of the bare root rose season. Once planted, they establish quickly in the garden, flowering in their first year – and for many years to come. Potted roses are delivered direct from David Austin’s nursery by courier. Each rose will arrive in a premium 6 litre pot, securely packed inside a sturdy, rose-print box. If watered adequately, potted roses can be kept in the same pot in which they are delivered for 6 weeks or more.

    Soft orange-red buds open to medium-sized, cupped rosettes of perfect apricot colouring. They are produced almost continuously, are extremely robust and have a lovely medium strength Tea fragrance with leafy elements and dark fruit notes. Very healthy; it forms an attractive, rounded, bushy head of growth with mid green foliage and few thorns. £5.50 from the sale of each rose will be donated to Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity.     Graceful semi-double flowers, of a pleasing apricot, are produced from the ground upwards, and are held in large heads of up to fifteen, nicely spaced blooms. They have a beautiful open-cup shape, loosely filled with about twenty petals, arranged around a cluster of golden stamens. It forms an extremely healthy shrub with tall, airy growth. Named after the much-loved piece of music by Ralph Vaughan Williams. David Austin, 2012.

    Bears rich yellow flowers, which pale over time. Their formation is most pleasing, having a neat outer ring of petals enclosing an informal group of petals within.     Pink-tinged buds open to reveal deep medium-sized cups held in large clusters. Pale yellow, paling to white at theedges, the delicate texture of the outer petals is such that the light runs through them, creating an almost luminous effect. The inner petals of each bloom frame a rich yellow eye. The fragrance is similar to green tea with aspects of lemon and honey. It forms a bushy, upright head of growth. David Austin, 2017.

The foliage is fine and pointed, similar to that of a Wild Rose. It is very tough, reliable and healthy. Named after the Royal Horticultural Society’s Essex estate, which includes many English Roses.
