Roses look superb in meadows, interspersed amongst wildflowers and tall grasses, on the fringes of woodland or in orchards where they draw pollinating insects. In natural settings, roses can be granted a certain freedom to roam, enhancing the wilder nature of their surroundings. For the first two or three years, until the rose is established, remove any grass or weeds from around the base.
