This is the season for bare root roses. At first, they may look modest, just stems and roots, but planted now, they are full of potential. The ground is still warm from the summer, the recent rains have made it easy to work, and the crisp, bright days make it a pleasure to be outside. Planting them now allows their roots to establish steadily in cool, damp conditions, setting the stage for strong, healthy growth when spring arrives.
