General Horticulture Worker – Production Operative

Primary purpose:

The role of General Horticultural Worker within Production is focussed on growing, picking and despatching roses to our customers.

Your day to day:

  • As a General Horticultural Worker you will be working in the packhouses, fields and outside on the container beds in all weathers (PPE provided.)
  • Working in the field – general horticultural work including planting, weeding, wood cutting and nipping out.
  • Being part of a team on the production line preparing, packing and despatching our potted and bare root roses.
  • You will also pot, prune, grade and pick roses.
  • General rose plant husbandry and any other rose related jobs including nursery hygiene (sweeping, cleaning, pot throwing).

What you bring to the team:

  • You’ll be a great team player who enjoys working collaboratively, as well as being happy to work independently within the field as needed.
  • Previous experience of working within a manual/production environment, with the ability to work to targets and deadlines.
  • You’ll have an eye for detail and quality, and be able to work alongside your colleagues at the team pace to ensure targets are met.
  • Experience of working within the horticultural industry with a real interest in plants.
  • Bags of enthusiasm – a willingness to learn new skills and happy to work in all weathers indoor and outdoor.
  • Flexible and adaptable – you will switch between a variety of roles within the production team.

Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager will be a commercially astute individual, responsible for delivering marketing and communication campaigns to achieve the overall strategic objectives of the organisation across both the UK and international markets for our B2C and our B2B business areas. The role involves developing, executing, reporting and evaluating marketing campaigns across a variety of channels, as well as managing resources, liaising with stakeholders and providing insights and recommendations.

The successful Marketing Manager will be highly organised, have excellent communication and analytical skills, and have strong experience in campaign data analysis. Effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a key part of the Brand & Content team in the planning and delivery of global brand and product marketing campaigns.
  • Deliver B2C and B2B multichannel, integrated marketing campaigns with the aim of attracting, acquiring and retaining customers.
  • Use data segmentation to lead and return market positioning and communications – consistently reporting back to the department.
  • Provide ongoing round ups with proven quantitative and qualitative reporting structures feeding into the Head of Brand & Comms existing reporting processes.
  • Support the Head of Brand & Comms with their regular measurement of the financial ROI of campaigns.
  • Brief and project manage the work of internal and external agencies, such as e-comm, creative design and content leads who will deliver a portion of campaign activity.
  • Write, edit and proofread copy for promotional materials within marketing campaigns, with a strong brand tone of voice alignment.
  • Ensure that the organisation’s brand and identity is adhered to in campaigns and in all communication channels using both brand guidelines and style houses to steer.
  • Ensure accuracy of marketing materials and provide formal sign-off where necessary ahead of the Head of Brand & Comms or the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Stay abreast of current trends in brand and marketing, research consumer markets, and monitor competitors. Map future brand must-haves into the planning structures.
  • Recommend strategies to position the brand for growth with relevant experience and case studies.
  • Support in the thought development, campaign plan and delivery of product launches and promotional events.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
  • Strong experience in a Marketing Manager’s role with a proven success record across B2B and B2C channels.
  • Ideally global exposure, with a keen eye on UK, EU & US territories and a desire to understand the markets and their brand activation opportunities.
  • Multi-platform management experience including digital, email, print & in-store.
  • Exceptional campaign management experience with a project management approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Keen ability to build knowledge of industry trends and developments, and the ability to identify opportunities to position our company as a thought leader.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ensure accuracy of marketing materials and provide formal sign-off where necessary ahead of the Head of Brand & Comms or the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Enjoy working in a very fast-paced environment where needs develop and change with the business.
  • Enjoy being the key go-to person for campaign plans and be in the know at all times with status of projects.

Finance Assistant

Primary purpose:

The Finance Assistant is responsible for supporting the finance department by performing a range of administrative and financial tasks. The Finance Assistant will help to ensure the company’s financial operations run smoothly and comply with regulations.

Your day-to-day:

•   Processing of purchase orders & supplier invoices
•   Reconciling accounts payable ledgers and ensuring timely payments
•   Processing customer refunds
•   Entering financial transactions into the accounting system
•   Investigating & resolving any discrepancies
•   Supporting month end & year end processes
•   Processing employeeexpenses & checking compliance with company policies
•   Providing general admin support to the financial team and responding to enquiries from other departments and external parties

What you bring to the team:

•   Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) is advantageous
•   Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
•   Strong organisation and time management skills
•   Good communication skills both written and verbal
•   Professional certifications are desirable but not essential
•   Ability to work independently & as part of a team
•   Experience using Sage 200 is desirable but not essential
