The Sir David Beckham rose was created in partnership with The King’s Foundation, an organisation for which Sir David Beckham serves as an ambassador. This gesture reflects our shared commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and a deep respect for the natural world.
A Rose for a Milestone Year
Created to mark Sir David Beckham’s 50th birthday, this rose began as a gift from his daughter, Harper.
Harper’s request was for something enduring. Rather than a gift for the moment, she imagined a rose that would grow alongside their family - returning faithfully season after season and deepening in beauty with every passing year.
The Sir David Beckham rose has been created in partnership with The King’s Foundation, for which Sir David Beckham serves as an Ambassador. As part of this collaboration, from each rose sale, £2.50 is donated to King Charles III’s nature and sustainability charity, supporting its work building sustainable communities and celebrating heritage crafts.
Founded by His Majesty in 1990, The Kings Foundation is dedicated to strengthening the relationship between people, places and planet. Through education and practical training, the charity champions traditional skills centered on nature and sustainability – from architecture to horticulture – that might otherwise be lost to time.
The Foundation’s work is rooted in the belief that beauty and craftsmanship have an important place in everyday life. Whether they are restoring historic skills or encouraging nature-inspired learning, they help people of all ages reconnect with the value of growing and caring for the world around them.
It is a philosophy of stewardship and long-term thinking that resonates deeply with our own approach here in Shropshire. Just as the Foundation protects traditional crafts, we shape every David Austin® rose slowly over many years with patience, expertise, and care.
