Our Gift to the Worthiest of Causes
We are delighted to enter the season of giving by donating £100,000 between our chosen health-based charities: NHS Charities Together, National Garden Scheme & Alexandra Rose Charity. Donations were raised through sales of The Generous Gardener (Ausdrawn), Princess Alexandra of Kent (Ausmerchant) and the new Nye Bevan (Auspital) roses.
Three wonderful charities
planting positivity
As part of our Planting Positivity initiative, we planted 21 roses at hospices around the country in partnership with the National Garden Scheme. On top of this we were also honoured to be in involved in the inauguration of the new sensory gardens at Bedwellty House in Tredegar, Wales, home of Nye Bevan’s political career, with the planting of a bed of stunning, newly introduced ‘Nye Bevan’ roses.
the three roses
The Generous Gardener (Ausdrawn)
Bears beautifully formed flowers, which nod gracefully on the stem. When the petals open they expose numerous stamens, providing an almost water lily-like effect.
Princess Alexandra of Kent (Ausmerchant)
The unusually large, bright pink flowers are full-petalled and deeply cupped. In spite of their size, they are never clumsy, being held nicely poised on a well-rounded shrub.
Nye Bevan (Auspital)
An uplifting rose bearing unusual open cupped flowers of soft yellow, paling to cream. It's petals are generously assembled around a central boss of golden stamens.
"It has been wonderful throughout the season to know our work has helped to raise much needed funds for such vital causes. Roses and health have always been interlinked and it has been a privilege to support our chosen health-based charities this year, alongside the many others we have supported over the years. We thank our customers for planting positively with us and enabling us to make such a significant contribution."
