A CHARITABLE COLLABORATION BURSTING WITH SUNSHINE!

We have teamed up with iconic British pottery company, Emma Bridgewater to create a charming ‘Bring Me Sunshine’ ½ pint mug, raising funds for the National Garden Scheme.

The happy-hued mug is decorated with the vibrant English shrub rose Bring Me Sunshine® (Ausernie) – named after the heart-warming tune made famous by comedy duo Morecambe and Wise. Whether you are a seasoned rose enthusiast or just starting on your gardening journey, this mug and beautifully fragranced rose are the perfect pairing for bringing you sunshine whatever the weather. A £5 donation will be made to the National Garden Scheme by Emma Bridgewater for every mug purchased and a further £10,000 donation will be made by David Austin®, helping to make an even bigger difference to the nursing and health charities they support.

Why not give the gift of sunshine?

We have also created a Bring Me Sunshine® gift box which includes the charming Emma Bridgewater ½ Pint Mug, a handy National Garden Scheme notebook to pencil in your gardening notes, and a David Austin® rose voucher, for a rose of the recipient’s choice. But of course, we’d suggest choosing the Bring Me Sunshine® shrub.

About the English Shrub Rose Bring Me Sunshine®

A joyously warm and inviting variety that bears deeply filled, cupped rosette blooms of rich sunset orange-yellow paling to lighter apricot tones over time. This healthy, bushy shrub has a complex medium-strong Myrrh fragrance, perfect for placing near a seating area.

Launched in 2022, the large English shrub rose grows to around 4ft (125cm) by 3 1/2ft (110cm) and happily thrives in containers or borders alike. The upright growth nature of the shrub means it is also ideal for cutting and bringing indoors for sunshine on the inside!

Donating £10,000 to the National Gardening Scheme

As part of our collaboration, we are excited to be opening the garden gate, for the very first time, to Mr Austin Senior’s private gardens where the business began with the launch of his first rose in 1961 - Constance Spry. The ticketed event stretches over two summer days, 15th and 16th June 2024, will support fundraising efforts for our donation to the National Garden Scheme.

Alongside also having the opportunity to explore his personal rose collection and the six themed public gardens, open weekend visitors will be treated to music, garden games and typically English tea-time treats amongst the roses.
