Liam Beddall is Head Rosarian at David Austin® and leads the Professional Trade Services team, supporting garden designers, landscapers and trade professionals across the UK. With years of experience in roses and companion planting, he helps create planting schemes that showcase roses beautifully alongside carefully chosen companion plants.

Passionate about encouraging the use of roses in gardens of all sizes, Liam works closely with clients to provide practical, tailored advice. Known for his hands-on approach and clear communication, he continues the tradition of quality and care that defines David Austin®, helping gardens flourish and ensuring these roses bring lasting beauty for generations to come.

Richard has been with David Austin® for over 30 years, bringing a depth of experience that is rare and invaluable. For nearly a decade, he served as Head Gardener, overseeing the care and development of the renowned rose gardens at our Shropshire nursery. His knowledge of roses - how they grow, how they behave, and how best to combine them in planting is second to none.

Richard plays a key role in supporting clients and projects across the country, offering advice and ensuring the highest standards of horticulture are upheld. With his professionalism and lifelong dedication to his craft, he embodies the very best of David Austin’s values.

Joe began his journey with David Austin® in the breeding department, where he had the rare opportunity to work closely with founder David C.H. Austin. Under his guidance, Joe developed a deep understanding of what sets a truly special rose apart, not just in appearance and fragrance but in character. This early experience shaped his instinctive appreciation for balance, beauty and purpose in every variety.

Today, Joe combines that heritage with a broad practical knowledge, supporting clients across a wide range of projects. Whether advising on rose care, helping shape planting designs or providing support behind the scenes, he brings a thoughtful and measured approach to every task. With his calm manner and natural curiosity, Joe helps ensure the values at the heart of David Austin® continue to flourish.

Nathan has grown English roses for many years and knows each variety well, understanding their individual habits and needs. Before joining the team, he spent several years leading landscape maintenance teams across the country. The role gave him valuable hands-on experience in caring for gardens of all shapes and sizes and a lasting understanding of what helps plants thrive.

He has a real talent for companion planting, creating combinations that feel natural and balanced. Nathan’s eye for form, texture and colour brings a quiet harmony to every design. Clients value his calm, practical approach and the clear, thoughtful advice he offers. Whether planting a new border or managing long-term projects, Nathan brings care, consistency and deep knowledge to his work, helping gardens grow beautifully over time.

Katie’s connection with gardening began early, shaped by a family of passionate gardeners and a longstanding appreciation for roses inspired by her grandparents’ love of hybrid teas. As a devoted David Austin® customer and rose collector for more than twenty years, she has developed a deep admiration for the beauty, character, and performance of English roses, drawing continued inspiration from regular visits to the gardens. Today, Katie works closely with gardeners, landscapers, and garden designers, supporting a wide range of projects. She offers thoughtful guidance on rose selection, planting combinations, and suitability for both private and public-facing spaces, helping to create schemes that are visually striking and enduring.

With her natural warmth, keen eye for balance, and genuine enthusiasm for plants, Katie brings a calm, considered approach to every collaboration, ensuring each project is supported with care, confidence, and attention to detail.

Consultancy

We are here to offer thoughtful, personalised advice whether you are planning a formal rose garden, a naturalistic border, or a large-scale public scheme. From variety selection to planting combinations and layout, we are happy to help. We can also advise on companion planting, helping you to choose plants that will not only complement your roses in colour and form but also support their health and longevity.

Garden Design Support

We also offer a complimentary rose garden and border design service tailored to your space and style. Simply share your garden dimensions, preferred varieties or colour schemes, and we will create a bespoke plan to help you get the best from your planting.

Year-Round Availability

Bare root roses are available from November to April while potted roses can be delivered year-round by overnight courier Tuesday to Friday. For orders of 20 or more potted roses please contact us for delivery estimates.

Flexible Trade Ordering

We offer trade pricing with a low minimum order of just five roses whether potted or bare root. You are welcome to mix varieties giving you greater freedom to tailor your planting to each project.

Over 120 Varieties

Our trade range includes more than 120 roses from English shrub and climbers to ground cover roses. We also offer trade discounts on the wider David Austin® bare root collection.

Our Guarantee

We take great care in selecting and preparing every rose. If a rose arrives damaged or fails to grow, we will replace it free of charge. Our five-year guarantee is our way of ensuring you can plant with complete confidence.
