        Behind the name
In 2022, David Austin was hugely impressed with an RHS Chelsea Flower Show garden called ‘Hands off Mangrove’ by not-for-profit Grow2Know. The garden was designed by Danny Clarke along with Grow2Know founder, Tayshan Hayden-Smith, and powerfully united the two prominent issues of social injustice and global deforestation. Intrigued by Danny's drive to make gardening more accessibleand inclusive this city dwelling rose was the perfect pairing to share our passion for the power of gardening and enabling roses to bloom in anylandscape.

          Blooms smaller

First blooms were big and whole rose bush was full of roses. Now the plant has grown significantly but the bloom has become much smaller and is not as attractive as it used to be. Hoping it will flower big and more next year.

          Dannahue Rose review

I planted this bareroot rose in February 2024. The first year it’s had a few roses on that look lovely. However there was only one flowering period and no more roses came. This year in 2025, I had several roses on it in May. Once they had withered and been deadheaded no more roses have come. There is plenty of foliage and it looks a healthy shrub, however I bought this as a repeat flowering rose and is it has not repeat flowered. It’s now past the middle of July and there are no buds on it at all.

Beautiful flowers with a lovely scent

I've had Dannahue for about 2 years now and this rose has really reignited my love for roses. Beautiful flowers and the scent is wonderful! The pollinators love it too!
