          Description
Soft orange-red buds open to medium-sized, cupped rosettes of perfect apricot colouring. They are extremely robust and have a lovely fruity Tea scent. Very healthy; it matures into an attractive, rounded, bushy shrub with few thorns. Named to mark the centenary of Roald Dahl’s birth, with the approval of his wife, Liccy Dahl – the colouring reminiscent of the eponymous peach in James and the Giant Peach. Sales of this rose raised £100,000 for Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity.

          Behind the name
This variety was named with the approval of Roald Dahl's wife, Felicity Dahl, to highlight Roald's love of gardening. The colour of the rose immediately brought to mind the eponymous peach in James and the Giant Peach, one of Roald Dahl's best-loved novels. Throughout 2016, there were celebrations for Roald Dahl 100 including the launch of this new rose named in his honour.

            Stunning

My favourite David Austin Rose so far. The change in colour of the blooms from
deep peach to pale yellow is beautiful. Bought last year it has grown quickly, almost more like a climber than bushy so I will prune back harder this year.

            Beautiful Roald Dahl hedge

I saw this a few years ago when it was first exhibited at Chelsea and fell in love.
I have 3 in a container in the garden and couldn’t resist making space in the front garden for more. It’s the first sight I see as I open the front door.
Everyone who visits comments on how beautiful they are. I planted 4 as a sort of hedge.
They get stronger with bigger blooms every year. Just the prettiest peach colour and completely disease free.
